First, you show that your coloring book only has all blank pages. The magician (you) asks the children to point to the coloring book and say a spell. You then show that there is a drawing on each page – but the drawing is not colored. Next, ask the children to call out their favorite colors! You open the book again and the ENTIRE drawing has now magically been colored. This routine works with a 3-way coloring book, and if you want an extra layer on the routine, you can advantageously choose the 4-way coloring book. Here there is “an extra way” in the coloring book, where before you show it fully colored, you will be able to show them that the picture’s is half colored and where the drawing is outside the lines! It gives a good laugh among the audience.
