Combo Cups & Balls – Chop Cup is very elegant. This trick is one of the oldest and most famous effects in magic. And the Chop Cup is a variation of the classic Cups and Balls trick.
The magician shows three empty cups and places them on the table. He strikes one cup lightly with his wand, lifts the cup and shows that there is a small ball underneath. The ball disappears – only to reappear under another cup! He puts it back under the cup, but the magical strike makes it disappear and reappear under the cup on the other side.
He discovers a second ball and it disappears again and then a third. And when he lifts the last cup, all three balls are under it. Or even better: he produces an onion, a lemon and a potato from the cup as a climax. There are many variations and routines. They can be found in magic books, on YouTube etc. The cups are seamless, made of aluminum, and one has a built-in gimmick.
