Description
A Trip to The Circus – George Iglesias & Twister Magic:
This trick is inspired by master magician David Copperfield and the classic Abbott’s Bathing Beauty effect, originally invented by Frederic Culpit from England.
George Iglesias now brings us his children’s version, following the success of the launch of “A Trip to Cancun”, the adult version. This version for kids is a great seven-minute comedy routine that has a great twist and plot ready to entertain audiences of all ages!
THE EFFECT:
The magician chooses a child from the audience and shows him 6 cards with circus animals printed on them. The child chooses a card, memorizes the chosen animal and shows it to everyone else except the magician. The card is put back in the deck and shuffled among the other cards.
Now the magician says that he will make the animal disappear and travel to a magic circus. He waves his hand over the cards and – either the child or the magician can show the cards to show that the chosen animal has disappeared completely!
The magician now says that he will take the child to the magic circus by using his imagination. He shows a large poster with the figure of a classic magician, wearing a tuxedo, a red bow tie, a red sash, a magician’s top hat and a magic wand, but most importantly, he is actually holding a card in his other hand. The problem is that the card is on the poster, but the back is facing outwards, so no one can see if the card is really the card that traveled to the magic circus.
Don’t worry, the magician now folds up the poster and asks the child to put their hand in to take the card out, but the child grabs the magician’s wand instead! “Oh no! You were supposed to take out the card, not the wand!”.
Now the magician opens the poster again – and the wand is missing from the drawing.
Don’t worry, he folds the poster again and asks the helper once more if he wants to take out the magician’s top hat this time. “Oh no! You were supposed to take out the card, not the magicians HIGH HAT!”
He opens the poster once again and now the HAT is also missing from the drawing and the children can see that the magician has a rabbit on his head and that he is also bald!
All children will laugh at the situation where the child takes other things instead of the card. That’s why the magician puts his own hand in this time. He takes the real card face up – but by mistake he also takes the red sash without realizing it.
The children will now laugh even harder and immediately tell the magician what’s going on. As soon as the magician sees the mistake, he puts the red sash aside and asks the child to tell him which animal he chose…
As soon as he tells which animal, the magician turns the card over so everyone can see that it’s exactly the same animal and the same card that was chosen!
At the end of the trick, all children will ask to see the inside of the poster. When the magician shows the poster again, they can clearly see that the magician’s pants are down. He is wearing funny underwear and a rabbit in front of the poster. Children will laugh at this comical situation.
This effect is great for kids and family magic, comedy, parlor and stage magic. Very easy to perform. 7 minute comedy routine. You can force a card or have the helper choose a random card
