Description
Eye Candy – Eric Ross: 3 years ago, Eric Ross attracted a lot of attention with the Hook effect. Now it’s with Eye Candy.
Eye Candy may not be an actual magic trick – but it’s a slightly scary – and very surprising effect.
The magician places a Tic Tac in the mouth. Slowly but surely it is pushed through the skin of the face and appears under the magician’s eye! The spectator can even help push the white Tic Tac and feel the lozenge move under the skin. If the audience isn’t already frightened, you can eat the Tic Tac for an added effect.
WARNING:
SOLDONLY TO PERSONS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE!
Purchase and performance of Eye Candy is at your own risk. Check the instructions carefully so that you know exactly how to perform this effect. Neither the manufacturers Hanson Chien or Eric Ross – nor Carrot Magic can be held responsible for any injuries or illnesses that may occur in connection with the use of Eye Candy.
Like Hook, Eye Candy has all the great elements that make it a thriller of sorts: a modern prop, with a method that makes it easy to use for walkarounds, for example. The whole effect can be performed with the audience on all sides.
Eye Candy comes with a small box, designed to keep your gimmick in a safe, sterile condition and also help you with preparation. It’s practical and doesn’t take up much space in your pocket.
The most important part of Eye Candy is that it must be 100% SAFE. That’s why the gimmick is made of medical grade materials, the same material that surgeons use in surgical tools. The gimmick will not melt, irritate the skin, crack or cause damage to the body. To ensure that the gimmick is produced with the highest quality, Eric has partnered with Hanson Chien, one of the most reputable prop manufacturers in magic.
Part of the assurance also comes from quality training. You’ll be linked to more than 40 minutes of expert instruction from Sean Chou, Poker Chen and Eric Ross. They walk you through both safety and performance tips, with multiple live performances and studio walkthroughs to show you all the different variations. They even brought in people who have never experienced this effect before and filmed their learning process in real time, from start to finish. (Spoiler Alert: they all succeeded!)

Frequently asked questions
How safe is Eye Candy really?
There’s a reason we designed this effect based on “Tic Tacs”, a lightweight object with a polished and smooth surface. This is a much, much safer object than other choices previously used in magic plots involving the eye. As long as you know what you are doing, you will always be very safe. So please look through the ENTIRE tutorial and learn carefully. The manufacturers made every effort to produce the safest prop and detailed training. It is then your job to take good care of yourself during the performance.
Is this product a consumable? Do I need to buy refills?
Our gimmick is designed to be reusable and to last for many uses. The only refills you need to buy are the real Tic Tacs that you actually eat! (Real Tic Tacs are NOT included).
How long is the setup time?
Less than 30 seconds. You can do it anywhere as long as nothing is watching you (a bathroom break will work). The carrying case is designed to help you with the setup from start to finish, so it should be very straightforward.
Can I perform EYE CANDY while wearing contact lenses?
Yes, you can. In the trailer, several people are already wearing contact lenses while performing, so it’s perfectly fine. We’ve also provided extra preparation and performance tips for the contact lens wearers to ensure everyone can do the effect.
Can I REALLY learn this? How steep is the learning curve?
In the tutorial, we invited people who have never done this effect before to learn with us. Everyone was able to get the hang of it within the first few minutes. We’ve also included the original tutorial from Eric Ross, which shows everything from the very beginning of this routine.
