Step into a magical world and learn all the real magic secrets in magician Henrik Christensen’s book “MAGICAL DAYS AT THE MAGIC ACADEMY”
In the book you’ll meet Frederik, whose greatest wish is to learn magic! Together with his friend Isabella, he is admitted to the Magic Academy, where the Magic Master tells them about the history of magic, teaches them how to keep a secret and reveals all the real magic secrets. But what is Isabella’s secret that she won’t tell Frederik? Why is magic so easy for her and will she succeed in making herself invisible? And will Frederik find the secret to real magic?
As a reader, you’ll learn to do magic together with Frederik and Isabella, and you’ll learn all the secrets of magic.
You’ll learn a total of 8 basic magic tricks that, with the Magic Master’s thorough instructions, give you the best introduction to the world of magic. You’ll learn one of the world’s oldest magic tricks, a classic rope trick, two amazing card tricks, a number trick, a coin trick, and finally you’ll learn the Magician’s favorite trick. You’ll also learn how to keep a secret, how to force a spectator to choose a certain object, and what it takes to present a successful magic show.
In addition to teaching the reader how to do magic, the book conveys the childlike joy of playing magician and acquiring magical knowledge, as well as the joy of performing in front of an audience with well-crafted magic. The story also gives the reader insight into the protagonist’s joys and sorrows on the journey to mastering magic.
Henrik Christensen talks about the book:
– “The story is based on my own experiences. As a child, I knew two things early on: I wanted to learn magic and I wanted to learn to play the piano. Some of my childhood friends had pianos at home, so at any given opportunity I would sit at their piano and persuade them to teach me a few songs. Magic, on the other hand, was far beyond my reach. I’d seen magicians on TV, but never in real life, and I didn’t know anyone who knew magic. So where do you go when you want to learn magic in the early 1980s? At a time when, unlike today, you couldn’t find all the information online.
The book is recommended for ages 12 and up, but can be read by anyone who wants a peek into a magical world.
The book is 212 pages, 25 chapters and is illustrated with photos.
