Like the other tricks in the Noble 52 Collection, Noble Virtues is an incredibly beautifully crafted prop that lends the same elegant and astonishingly mysterious feel to the magic experience.
Five golden coins, each representing one of the Five Noble Virtues — Strength, Loyalty, Wisdom, Courage, and Honor —are locked inside a closed box, with a string threaded through them.
The spectator chooses one of the virtues, and without ever opening or touching the box…
…the magician inexplicably causes the chosen virtue to break free from the string.
When the box is unlocked and opened, only the chosen coin falls free. The other four coins are still securely attached to the string—exactly as before. A seemingly impossible effect that leaves the audience with one question:
How could the selected coin break free?
The Method and Origin
Noble Virtues is a fantastic modern interpretation of the Psychic Disc Escape, which was created in the 1960s by the legendary inventor Eddy Taytelbaum.
The trick is very easy to perform, requires nosleight of hand, and is therefore suitable for all skill levels—from beginners to professional magicians.
