PR3MIERE – Nikolas Mavresis and David Jonathan
PR3MIERE is a fantastic movie-themed routine from the dynamic duo Nikolas Mavresis and David Jonathan. Inspired by their love of movies and cinemas, this is a fantastic movie-themed effect – and with an ingenious method.
The magician displays five envelopes showing different movie genres. The envelopes are shuffled and a participant selects one of the envelopes and looks at the movie poster inside – let’s say it’s 8 Mile.
The five envelopes are now laid out in a row and five tokens are introduced. These are placed on top of each envelope in the order the helper chooses. The movie posters are then flipped out of the envelopes and the tokens are slowly turned over one at a time. Amazingly, on the back of each token is a different number that directly matches the movie it was paired with – a perfect match!
Just like any great movie, the finale has a surprising twist at the end. The numbers on the tokens are flipped around to look like letters. And they form the words 8 Mile – the exact movie they had chosen at the beginning! It’s an Oscar-worthy ending that really leaves viewers very surprised.
You get the high-quality, custom-made props that do most of the work for you. You get the great little movie posters of well-known classic films designed by Phill Smith. The tokens can be examined by the audience.
The routine is quite easy to do and doesn’t require much dexterity, so you can focus on the presentation. Perfect for close up, salon or stage.
