53 Films Playing Cards – Mark Shortland
This is the third deck of cards that Mark Shortland has made. He created the original paintings while working as a magician on cruise ships around the world.
Each card features an iconic movie costume.
The original paintings are 20 cm x 25 cm. These paintings have then been scanned in high resolution and the digital file was used to create each playing card. The artwork has not been enhanced or altered from the original work unless absolutely necessary. Mark’s own handwriting and drawings are used for the indexes.
The deck contains 56 cards; 52 playing cards, two Jokers and two information cards telling which movie the costumes are from.
The cards are printed by Cartamundi on their Slim-Line paper/card (FSC, black core board – thin, snappy, soft to the touch). This is combined with TRUE LINEN B9 FINISH.
The design on the back is digitally created by Mark Shortland. It’s simple, elegant and made in old-fashioned celluloid film style.
